Watch the trailer for the Amy Winehouse documentary

Stop what you’re doing and watch the trailer for AMY, an intimate glimpse into the documentary about the life and death of Amy Winehouse, one of Britain’s most tragic warnings about the pitfalls of fame. Winehouse, who died in 2011 from alcohol poisoning following battles with addiction and eating disorders, was adored by the world and won five Grammys over the course of a career that saw her sell 20 million albums worldwide.

The film was made by BAFTA-winner Asif Kapadia, who also directed Senna, the beautiful documentary about the Brazilian Formula One driver who died in a fatal crash back in 1994. AMYfeatures interviews with her ex-lover Blake Fielder, Mos Def and her producer Salaam Remi.

Like Senna, the film brings to light unseen, archive footage as well as previously unheard tracks. During the film, Winehouse admits to regretting her fame, the attention it brought her and the self-sabotage it invoked.

AMY is out in cinemas on 3 July
